This page has a "go down" not a "go up" link at the bottom.
There are a number of others as well.
Not sure whether it's random or some specific pages as I've not seen it regularly.
Bit vaigue ... but hope it helps

Is this to do with single (Go up) and multiple pages (Go down) on threads?

I assumed that was correct? i.e. if there is only one page you can only go up from the bottom whereas with multiple page you can go on down!!

Ok this was the original query.
Now the link quoted goes to a 2 page thread, hence the Go Down (you can go down to the next page!). On a single page thread the button is Go Up because that's the only way you can go!!! I guess?
Perhaps we need to keep on going on posting on this thread to prove the point! (Just joking)

LMAO. Mine kinda hangs around most of the day and only wakes up at night. Need one? It's optional.

I'm not sure of the point of the "GoDown" button at the bottom cos it doesn't actually take you "down" to the next page anyway.
Here's another example
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,39.0.htmlClick on the go down and you get taken to
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,39.0.html#botThis is the exact same link that the go down button at the top of the page says
There are the numbers like Pages: [1] 2 3 ... 9 for navigating between the pages as a person of limited skills would have thought that the up down buttons (as with most of these) would have taken you from the top to the bottom of the specific page
Hmmm
Just checking whilst I'm writing this it appears that the Go Down button at the top of pages is non functional as well.
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,32.0.html#bot doesn't appear to work either at the top or bottom
May be the template or some core code isn't behaving as it should?

I've heard they're conducive to irrational behavior and erratic personality traits. Rumor has it that if they are used in the way they are meant to be used, they're nothing but trouble - I've opted to limit my use of such a cumbersome item only to times where I have to deal with my ex-wife. (Makes it so much more fun! LOL)
I've done well without consistent use of one for the better part of 36 years, so you *should* be safe...
