Understood. One approach we are intending is to have a Joomla instance front-end SourceForge i..e. Joomla would provide site "home page" capabilities and navigation to projets provided by SourceForge. When users post news to a project the news item would be passed to Joomla for display on the "home page" -- that way Joomla has complete control over how the news items are presented, archived, even sent out via RSS etc.

Has there been any further news on this? I'd sure like to subscribe to an Atom or RSS newsfeed of all the Sourceforge news.

I would like this feature improved also, currently my rhuk solarflare II only allows displaying 3 articles and 1 link to the 4th.. I'd like to display intro of at least 5 articles... can't this be done now?

oops found answer to my question... go to menu > main menu > home > edit paramter "#intro"

I can scan what is happening in all the projects and rapidly catch up on what's going on.
Add RSS to that and you will see your traffic jump by 300%, I'm sure of this.

We are all busy people, this is IMHO the best way of helping everyone keep an eye on things.
No need to explain how this has a major impact on building the community here!

Any idea when we can see more new items ? Projects and updates are coming in so fast one nearly needs to check more than once a day to keep up.

How about a news archive grouped by project category and subcategory?

Example:

Components > Forums
Components > Image Galleries

etc...
