Brian presents Joomla!

On Sunday 9th July 2006 I presented Joomla! to the bi-annual conference for the Movement for Reform Judaism in the UK. This is one of the fastest growing religious groups in the UK and the conference was attended by over 200 people from over 37 constituent synagogues (temples) and my session was entitled "Joomla – Creating Content Rich Web Sites For Your Synagogue, Or .. Your gateway to your local community of Reform Jew."
The slides from the talk are available on line at http://www.joomlatraining.org.uk/extern ... lides.html and a low res video of the 60 minute presentation can also be found at http://www.joomlatraining.org.uk/conference.html
To demonstrate the power of Joomla! and how easy it is to create a website I created one especially for the conference whilst I was there. Sitting in the bar with a laser keyboard (http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/) really attracted attention and ensured that my session was very well attended.
They were truly amazed what can be achieved in a short period of time, especialy whilst sat drinking in a bar.
I'm really happy to report that already the main Movement for Reform Judaism website has been converted from a proprietary CMS to Joomla and that several other synagogues have stated their intentions to move to Joomla!
