hosting sites

I am not advertising or trying to build business for 1and1.com. I am a very newbie to Joomla and very excited to use it. In the beginning I did not know if 1and1.com (which is where I have a couple of sites) was able to host the requirements of Joomla. I searched in my spare time a couple of other hosting sites to see what they had, but it seems to be hard to find specifics of hosting. The following link was emailed to me by 1and1 tech support and was assured joomla could be hosted there.

Admin you can delete this if you deem unnecessary or move it to the proper topic. I just had a hard time finding info in the forums on this, even in the beginners guide it kind of assumes you have a host already. I must be a new newbie to this, because it is probably basic.

Posting a response to this may help others take the first step to getting a host and then following the beginners guide.

Thanks

There is a list of a few providers that have support for Joomla installations, which can be found here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,6856.0.html

Thanks exactly what I was looking for. When I do a search in the forums I didn't get that link.  :( sorry

Also here are the requirements for Joomla that helped me.

System Requirements

Here are the minimum requirements for Joomla 1.0
        a.. PHP 4.2.x or above - http://www.php.net
        b.. MySQL 3.23.x or above - http://www.mysql.com
        c.. Apache 1.13.19 or above - http://www.apache.org
You must ensure that you have MySQL, XML and Zlib support built into your PHP.

Having this all in one place hopefully helps others.
