Can any of the extensions listed be incorporated on static sites or they are made specifically for CMS sites.  I have a static site that I would like to include a directory on so I'm wondering if this is possible.

Thanks as always!!

All the extensions are for Joomla. If you wanted, you could run a Joomla install purely for running an extension, but you can almost always find standalone equivalents to the extensions that would make sense outside of a CMS environment, and these will tend to have more possibilities for integration with a static site.

Can you clarify this part?  How would I set this up?

Thanks!

Just install Joomla ;) It will be cheapest (free) and easiest.

Hi Brad,

I realize Joomla is free, fairly easy and fun ;D, but I didn't want to redo the site I already created.  I just wanted to know if I can possibly add a component to it.  Moving forward I'll use Joomla as it's capability seems great.

Thanks!

I'm lost as to how you could run a directory kind of site statically though. All the Extensions are made for Joomla, and therefore are dynamic as well.

Well, that was my original question ???

Just put a Joomla install in a subdirectory of your site, add the component you want to use, and put it as the first item in your main menu. You'd have to redo your design to fit the Joomla templating system, and mimic your site's menu structure within Joomla to get it to blend in though, hence my original suggestion of finding a standalone system to use, which will probably be designed with easy blending in mind.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll see which works best!
