Re: Joomla Extension Section Overhaul
I am sorry you have had a difficult road. It is good you are giving your time to something that means so much to you. Please realize though, that just as you are giving to something that is important to you, that you put your valuable time into, free for others to benefit - how would you feel if som...

Re: Joomla Extension Section Overhaul
You are not that new if you said you posted on the subject in July of 2007. You just haven't bothered to check what has gone on since. That isn't anyone else's issue but yours. There has been a ton of discussion regarding the JED. Descriptions of what is going to happen have been given. Feedback was...

Re: Joomla Extension Section Overhaul
There has been tons of input, on the subject. Did you read any of the posts that have come before your latest post? Since yours in 2007? People have said what they want, a reworking is in the works. There has been a lot of attention on it. Asked and answered repeatedly. Feedback has been given. Perh...

The page where you should be downloading from is: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/frs/ - down at the bottom of the page are the packages for 1.5.1 Stable, or you can use this link for the zip: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ackage.zip

Re: why is the official demo offline?
It doesn't take two weeks to set up and install Joomla!. Where the difference lies is I hope you and/or your friend would not be opening up the administrator backend of your site to millions of people on your sites. That is why the demo is a totally different issue in terms of security and locking i...

Re: why is the official demo offline?
Definitely understand that -- heck if I had time to finish half the things in my own to-do list I'd be much happier and richer :) I suppose I want to talk myself and others into believing Joomla is "easier" than it actually is, but it will take a real investment to come to terms with and ...

Re: Approval Bottleneck?
Please note that the JED work is handled by volunteers that work very hard. 2 days is not long to wait, considering the volume of work they have to do. Also the next time you have issues connecting please do a traceroute to what ever site your are accessing that is slow, to see where the connection ...

Re: What happened to the forum today???
No I didn't miss the point. It isn't a political issue. To assume it is, and cry "conspiracy" theories is just horribly misinformed and totally uncalled for. Perhaps you need a tin foil hat to help you through this time of transition and growth. It may help you to feel better about things....

Re: What happened to the forum today???
Instead of spending time composing long complaints about the forum switch, why not be a part of this vibrant community by giving back - and help by answering questions where people are asking for assistance? There are lots of unanswered posts that are just itching for answers from community members....

Re: New Forum Many Errors
The complaints have been seen. Most likely if you got that sql error, everyone was getting it. We know about it. There really is no need to keep starting new threads to complain over and over again.
Thanks for your patience.

Actually Loyd was very helpful. He looked past me being angered by the situation (possibly because he could empathize) and offered me a suggestion that IN FACT WORKED! THANK YOU LOYD! Remember you can always set up your very own copy of Joomla! as a demo for yourself either on a local server environment on your computer, or by setting it up on your own hosting space. That way you get to demo the installation process too.

Sitepoint has similar signature rules. m And my point is that people become entrenched with their silly pointless rules and enjoy making rules for no good purpose and do not respond to reasonable argument. Nothing in your posts on this subject represent "reasonable argument". You do seem...

Re: Question on forum profile
Hey Leo I have this issue too. It comes from an issue way back I think where a board when clicked on was loading a board that was not intended. I had this link bookmarked, and after the problem was fixed, I guess I didn't update my bookmarks. Recently I updated my bookmarks (cleane...
