I think it might have been an issue with the IP restrictions of a session, it looks a lot faster now.

Thanks Toivo, Yes, the sandbox forum is slow but it is just on a sandbox server which is shared by multiple joomla sandbox sites, so I suspect that that this is one issue. Kind Regards Olaf PS: I have removed that spammer from the sandbox, in theory there should be no user registering on this page.

OK, I figred out why there was no active topics available. This was due to the fact that this particular forum "Site & Infrastructure" was excluded from the active topic search on the sandbox.
Now that it is enabled, it is all working.
