Did you find what you needed with Joomla, or did you go with another system?

Re: Joomla as Student Information System (SIS)
Hi -
If you are looking for a student information system, you may want to take a look at Centre. It is open-source, php/postgresql. http://www.miller-group.net/index.php
Centre is not Joomla-based, though their business web site is running Joomla.

Re: Duplicating Websites?
Can I just duplicate the content and database and then just change the settings in the config file? Yes. Dupe everything & modify configuration file. I am doing this in moving a Joomla site to new server. Essentially same thing. From there you can edit and modify for your new site. Than...

Re: Advice on how to set up a site for an entire School District
Perhaps take a look at JACLPlus or other Group Access component? update edit: I had read comments on JACLPlus and was scared away by the comments, and the web site requiring log in, and the extensive modification to the core that would be done. I may revisit this in future if written pol...

Re: Advice on how to set up a site for an entire School District
My main question what is the best solution for setting up the user levels for people entering information. Each person needs to only have access to their own stuff or the content/section/categories that they are assigned to. I have looked at Community Builder, but I am not sure it is th...

Re: How many people update my Joomla WebSite?
yes... that argument makes sense, at least on one level, and I suppose if your organization is really big, it is a necessity. Joomla! will not have that capability until 1.6. I know many disagree with me, and for that reason I agree we need to add this functionality into Joomla!, but at...

Re: How many people update my Joomla WebSite?
You can tell who edited an article last by opening the article up in the back end. At the bottom of the publishing tab you will see where it says (for example): Last Modified Wednesday, 07 July 2004 23:10 Administrator Thanks! Very nice! In back-end: Content Items Manager > Content Item...

Re: How many people update my Joomla WebSite?

How many people update my Joomla WebSite?
Hi -
I am interested in how many people distribute the responsibility for maintaining their Joomla site's content.
ie, How do you enforce the business rule that a specific editor can only edit a specific section of content?
thanks.
Gare
