Re: Discuss: Joomla! 1.0.13 Released
Shocking News that my SMF Bridge will not work with the new upgrade........ and more shocking is to see that you guys are using SMF. You just lost a Joomla Fan!! It is fantastic that joomla has lots of extensions But if joomla restricted its improvements to those that never broke functionality in 3...

Re: Discuss: Joomla! 1.0.13 Released
Thanks guys. I had been a little bemused when I saw the release there earlier, but as usual took a prudent approach to upgrading (that is, I always wait a while before upgrading important sites to see how things pan out ) My only problem now is that the great stability of the 1.0.12 had slowl...

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! 1.0.8 Released
Well I have to say that I have been happy to upgrade two of my sites to 1.0.8 Although I had to fix 1 niggle with the login module, the new version is much improved and has fixed a lot more than it has broken. Key bonuses for me: ⋅ Links in site syndication feeds now work ⋅ Sessi...

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! 1.0.8 Released
thats a very good point, I have already been into the global config in the admin and changed a setting and saved so I cannot say what it was like just after the upgrade, but when I look now, I now have 2 new lines in my configuration.php $mosConfig_session_life_admin = '1800'; $mosConfig_session_typ...

The roadmap http://www.joomla.org/content/view/14/28/ shows 1.1 being out last quarter of 2005 / first quarter 2006. No dates for 1.2 onwards but must be after this.

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! Brand Guide & Logo Usage Released
You guys missed out one of the most popular dimesions for the logo variations.
These mini logos are very popular these days so it may be worth the logo team looking into this. Better to cover the most common applications otherwise people may be tempted to open...

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! Brand Guide & Logo Usage Released
That is a great info pack. Thanks for all the effort that has been put into this. I know that many people may be frustrated at not being allowed to ammend the logo to their own purposes, but I definately think that it is the right thing to do. This will help to create a very strong brand for the cms...

Re: Mambo Open Source Development Team - Letter to the community - Discussion
I am sure that these guys are extremely proud of the work they did as mambo core developers. They are now developing the software under a new banner. They are perfectly entitled to state their credentials as developers of mambo. They are not likely to wipe all that hard work off their CV now that th...

Re: FAQ: Navigation set to "hide", but still shows
The subordinate pages of a table - content category are items of content. You must then be referring to content item navigation e.g. Unfortunately, this is not an option on each menu item display. It must be controlled for the whole site in the global configuration. Content Item Navigation show / hide

Re: Connection Problem & Question
I think that the servers have been under pressure with so many people waiting on the new name announcement. Also you must understand that the current servers are an interim measure until a more comprehensive website, forum and developer zone is established. I understand that this will be very soon. ...

Re: How to make a column disappear on certain pages
It may be that you have a table nested within another and the max width is confined by the layout of the parent cell / table. Sorry cannot say any further just now - it can be quite a puzzle ammending templates like this.

Re: How to make a column disappear on certain pages
My gues would be colspans I have not time to look at this in detail but if you look in the index file, there is a fair bit of coding to calculate the appropriate colspans dependant on which module positions are used. The cell which holds the main body takes its colspan from these. If you have modifi...

Re: How to make a column disappear on certain pages
I just tried your suggested method and it works fine on my test (except for the syntax. I swapped the ne for !=) I agree that for many people this will be a much simpler solution (for backend module management) if they only need the wider area for 1 or 2 specific pages such as simpleboard. For some ...

FAQ: How to make a column disappear on certain pages
FAQ: Many people want to modify their template so that on certain pages the left or right column "disappears" to give a wider content area. Here is a quick pointer as to how it is done: You need to modify the template's index.php file so that the particular table cell or div that you want to disappe...

Re: SMF is not GPL!
Are we all going to have to throw away Microsoft XP when using mambo?
All forms of licence have their place. Just because we support OS GPL software does not mean that we must use it in all situations.
SMF seems to be doing a great job at the moment - very swift.

Re: Mambo Open Source Development Team - Letter to the community - Discussion
Hi everyone, Just thought that I would like to add my support to the core team. I was going to wait until I had read all posts over here but I am seriously struggling to keep up with all the posts on the old (mambo archive) forum and those on here. I knew it was the right place when I saw all the ph...
