Hi Michiel,
I know you and I had talked before about a rewrite/restart of another component but I'd be interested to just learn by doing a simpler one here.
Catalog, comments and tagging all sound interesting.

Yes, thank you guys for all the work. I hope I am reading into this that Andrew will be contributing more code now? If so, that's awesome - if not, you've already done enough to deserve a retirement.
I guess this is a time of change for all of you... All the best.

I'll avoid the usual comments about IE.
I just fired up my IE and I'm in the same resolution as you and I see everything fine - including the word "idea".
IE6, WinXP SP2

Re: Joomla Forum Search not Consistent
no tricks realy just use quotes in the search "sms component" and set it to oldest first I think the default behaviour of the smf search is that it display the newest post first. so its hard to search older ones I did a search for you and I got this m I dont understand what the site said tho ...

Re: Joomla Forum Search not Consistent
Yes Tonie, I am familiar with that bug. What about it returning results one day and then none the next with the same terms? Does it just quit searching part way through before it finds it? I'm starting to wonder if this is adding to questions asked that have been answered in the past - if they can't...

.sun has not posted much since these posts but I think his comment about the css was what other users have asked for which is a css file with only the styles in it that are used by the default install of Joomla. Some templates have some styles which others don't and it's hard to know which are neces...

Re: Joomla.org search function needs improvement
Thanks Tonie. I did google smf rc2 search bug but didn't come up with anything. It still sounds like a reasonable explanation for that problem. I've complained of other issues with the search as well though I won't bring them up here as I already posted about it.

Yes, there are other posts about this topic but I have yet to see any official response. Perhaps it's because I can't find the response by using the search?!

Re: Search function isn't working?
Actually I think the problem is that when there are no search results it gives the error message "search not specific enough". It SHOULD say "No results found. Maybe search was TOO specific." I assume this is a SMF problem? I have a problem with not knowing if my search returned no results or was r...

Have you looked at the FAQ forums here? Some of it may be too basic but I know many other users have attempted to share what they know in the form of a FAQ. I rarely look at the official documentation and instead just search here.

Joomla Forum Search not Consistent
I had this problem a couple months ago but could not repeat it so I didn't post anything. Sometimes when I am searching for a topic that I know exists (like one I have started in the past) the search will not return it! If I search a couple days later, it will work with the same search words. ...

Re: Discussion about: It's Time to Celebrate the Freedom — Yet Again!
I would like to echo all the praise already given. I too remember people dissatisfied with the forge. Can't say I wasn't one of them. It was something that I thought would be nice but kind of forgot about it as I knew people were busy doing so much else and then you go and spring it on us! Here I am...

Re: Discussion about: Joomla! 1.0.8 Released
Well, in my understanding, a patch wouldn't be a release, just an overwriter of impacted files.. I wouldn't want to use 1.0.8 as it is if I have to check our various posts for different fixes, and then edit the files by hand.... Make it easy for he users.. Exactly what I agree with. I know it would...

Yea, there seems to be a few concrete issues that could be fixed and posted. Has any community member put together a version of 1.0.8 with the corrected files? That's what I plan to do before updating all my sites, but I haven't had the time/willpower yet.
