Re: Calendar
Hi...it's me again...the original poster. I recently found out that we might have some extra funds available for purchasing software. Based on my original posting for this topic, are there any good, new Joomla-based products out there that might be a solution for us? Or, do we need to consider looki...

Photo Montage Suggestions?
Our pastor at our church asked me to research possibly adding some kind of photo montage on our website that may be able to be placed at or near the top of our home page. It could be as simple as a few pictures that blend from one to another in one large image...or it could be an animated montage of...

Re: First Parish Congregational church
I'm trying to get them to switch to a product from extrosoft (http://www.extrosoft.com/), which I think is very good, but I'm having problems getting them on-board with that. Our office is managed by some older people who are very resistant to change. Ah....Thyme! Yes, I actuallyl have this instal...

Re: First Parish Congregational church
What does your church use for an online calendar? This is something that I have been trying to find for our church site for a long time...something that is easily maintainable by our staff...with the ability to import event dates from another program, such as Outlook. In addition, I believe our st...

Re: New church site looking for suggestions
I thought I would add our church website to the list as one to look at. http://www.ascensionfdl.org/ We use the Exposé (mini version) photo gallery. It is a Flash-based photo gallery, and you can upload multiple images at one time. It works pretty good for our needs. You can see wh...

Re: Conducting a Survey
Turns out that this is just going to be a link to another website, but I would still be interested in any survey tools out there...if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions.

Conducting a Survey
My pastor just e-mailed me to ask if it's possible if we can conduct an online survey this coming November on our Joomla-based church website. I do not yet know what the questions will be, but I imagine that we would want to gather the data collected by the members who take this survey. Is the...

Re: Getting members to register & use our church website??
Well, tomorrow is the first day that we are going to try out the idea of having 2 PC stations set up for people to sign up on our website for a free username/password. I created a short 1 minute 15 second promotional video clip that we are going to show during the announcements at the end of t...

Re: Getting members to register & use our church website??
Good job! Would love to see it if there's a place it can be viewed online. I did post our church website in the Non-Profit Site Showcase section a while back. (I just checked and it's still on there about 5 to 10 postings from the newest one.) I do have a demo login set up, but it's not...

Re: Getting members to register & use our church website??
I wondered at the time I wrote that if you had - probably should have gone back and edited it to just ask. Good thinking. Still it does help to have an outright little blurb on the frontpage somewhere at least urging the members to register and maybe even say something about what is ava...

I decided to install Community Builder on our church site, and that fixed my issue. Thanks, Coffeymate.

Polls
I've noticed a quirky thing with the poll question we have on our church website ( http://www.ascensionfdl.org ). In Firefox, the survey choices all left align to the radio buttons. In IE, however, the choices are all center aligned. Anyone know how to fix this so they are left ali...

Re: Getting members to register & use our church website??

Re: Our church website
Thanks for sharing that info. I knew that it had to be relatively simple to do. Not a problem. I think this may be the "mini" version of the photo gallery. (I believe there is a larger version of this available for download.) We chose this version because it fit well in the ...

Re: Our church website
Can you tell me how you got the multimedia gallery to appear on it's own page and what module or component did you use? We chose to use the Exposé Photo Gallery. You can tell which component we used if you drill down to any photo gallery and then click on the blue question mark. As far as how...

I was looking at the Thyme's website last night and could not figure out which file to download (to install their demo). Any of you know which one(s) to get?

Yes...I was looking at this last evening. I was in e-mail correspondence with someone at that company last evening. Unfortunately, they do not offer reduced pricing or even offer their software for free to non-profit organizations. Their price for Thyme remains at $50.

When I go to the Extensions part of Joomla (extensions.joomla.org) and read about any given component, module, etc., there is a ton of white space that I have to scroll through before reading the description. Also, I have to scroll way over the right side of the screen. It appears that t...

Virtual Library on Church Website?
Our church will be redesigning our website using Joomla very soon. Are there any free extensions out there that would create a virtual library where our members could check out books (or our volunteer librarians could keep track of books that have been checked out from the church)?
