I meant an alternate link to the intall file, a mirror at least some other site out there that carries the install pack.  So, backup wasnt the correct term, as I definatley understand it would be hard to run a backup server that could take that kind of load.  I will practice more patience ...

so...does anyone have a copy of the joomla install file that they could post?  I have one at home but thats an hour away and I need to get this site up today

yeah the download area is down....again...rather frustrating that theres no backup

I cant get to the download page...but I was at it just a few minutes ago.
