Re: JED Update Questions and Discussion.
Thanks for the great work guys. An update long in the coming, and well worth the wait. I do have one issue though. Can we get some more licenses in the list? Right now it's GPL / LGPL / Everything else. But everything else covers a lot of stuff. There is for example a big difference between propriet...

Re: what happend to com_quiz
Is the code for them still around?
I would be happy to pick up either project if so (and if the license for the first one can be worked out)

Re: Can we request a review of our our votes?
Thanks a lot. You guys rock.
Sorry for the bother. You should set up a reporting component if you don't already have one, that automatically points out suspicious stuff.

Can we request a review of our our votes?
Is it possible to ask for the votes against a particular extension to be checked? I ask because we just released our Accordion module, and had a lot of votes really quickly, at least half of which seem to be ones (given that the half that gave reviews are all 5s) Seeing as there hasn't been any comp...

Re: Service message concerning unapproved submissions
I can't find the sifr module on 'my page' nor if I do a search
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... /cat_id,0/
The mambot is there, but not the module.
I will get the Thickbox resubmitted.

Re: Service message concerning unapproved submissions
2 were published yes, thanks for that.
But not the two I mean.
There should be a Ninja Thickbox, and Sifr Module in there somewhere. If not can we resubmit without issue?
When I filled out the sifr module I filled in the new (not released yet) form

Re: Service message concerning unapproved submissions
Have you finished publishing all the backed up extensions?
We had 2 in the way in which haven't been published yet. One from me and one from Richie.
Thanks.

Re: Extensions not published
I cant answer this in anyway that doesn't look like I am inflaming it. So I am out of here. All I will say is: @bennie, Don't use other people as examples to support your requests then insult them when they respond. I would prefer you never to use my name or the name of my club again in any of your ...

Re: Extensions not published
Stop being so aggressive. It is not productive at all. I would never have even entered this discussion if you hadn't started using my group name to justfy your position. Please also stop insulting me simply because I don't agree with you. It just makes you look bad. Try instead to reason with me and...

Very exciting that using 1.5 is becoming a more feasible option!

Re: Extensions not published
What a nice calm, logical, well reasoned out response. The causing giref comment was because you started using me as an example. I am not sure what 'all' it says. The other template clubs (who have extension clubs) I mentioned don't commit to regular extensions either. The extensions they do l...

Re: Separate listing for 1.5 extensions in "Extensions" tab?
Thanks Amy but not quite what I was asking, I should ahve been more clear.
I am saying if you divide the JED into 1.0.x and 1.5 categories then which category do the 'both' extensions fit into?

Re: Extensions not published
I am not joking. Because this situation could be used by deceitful people (not you obviously) to create one or two extensions to put on the JED simply to get people to visit their template club. You will notice that other Template clubs such as RT and Joomlart have seperate extension and template cl...

Should a 1.0.x and 1.5 version have seperate listings?
This is a question I am pondering as I go trhough a cycle of upgrading many of my extensions to 1.5 The code bases for the two are partially different, and development is carried out seperately, and they both have their own issues with the respective J versions. Especially as 1.0.x winds down in the...

Is there a list anywhere of abandoned extensions?
As per the title I am wondering if there is a list around of abandoned GPL extensions.
I am asking because I am interested in picking some up if they have a decent enough codebase to work from.
ta,
D.

On a side note I am kind of flattered that you care enough about me (for good or bad) to have found out and payed attention so quickly to me joining Mambo. It's been less than two weeks after all. For what it's worth I would like to make it very clear that I apologise for continuing to carry o...

Re: Access to this archive requires a subscription fee
Why should the notice of a subscription fee be required if it still GPL? Perhaps the bigger issue is why people are automatically equating GPL to free as in beer. Hi Danayel, Exactly. And we are about to update the list to choose from in the license field. That should make it clear that payment and...

So if I have a Non free but GPL component what do I do? Will I get a big flag on my extension? Marking it as subscription doesn't say it is GPL. Marking it as GPL doesn't say it is paid. @infograf768 Please don't try psychology tricks. Open ended accusations are designed to cast suspicion upon peopl...

I don't dissagree you -not 100% agree- but do agree on a lot. However that's not the point of this thread so can we get back on topic please. Which is - Is the JED going to take the logical and smart step of separating licenses and paid/free indicators As the current system of a big flag on th...

Re: Access to this archive requires a subscription fee
my 2 cents ? why don't you just go commercial ? with 20-30$/months you can get a simple turnkey e-biz solution, see Yahoo SMB and similar, they allow paypal, c/c processing and much more. just one or two sales a month and you're in business. as a user i find frustrating to read "GNU/GPL" and then b...

Re: Access to this archive requires a subscription fee
If you have nothing to fear you wont mind that a note is posted here. I would prefer a sign as on Joomla 1.0 ou 1.5 signs. Or else we could make the other way ... put a note on every free extension, as a plus!! I agree with you that license and payment should be a separate thing. But I disagree wit...

Re: Access to this archive requires a subscription fee
The problem with donation/subscription is that it could be GPL, or CC or any license behind it. If you want commercial GPL to become truly viable isn't a beter idea to separate the license and the payment (or not)? Especially considering the recent announcement GPL has been more strongly associated ...
