Commercial Extentions

Post by prakalp » Fri Sep 28, 2007 12:16 pm

Good Afternoon,

Having noticed this trend lately, I want to post my thoughts in this forum. Admin, please move to correct fora if necessary.

Many extentions are now being produced and published in the extentions section of the Joomla! site. However, it is not always clear from the overview \ list if the extentions is being released as 'GNU GP' or commercially. Some  developers are concientious enough to make this apparent but, some are not.

I wonder if or not the time is in to take the step and make the distinction apparent by seperating into relevant categories the extentions that require payment in one form or another from those that are made freely available to the community.

Regards,
Prakalp.

Hi prakalp,

Understand your concern here.
We do see the need to be able to differ between extensions that require payment and the ones that dont require payment.

This will be fixed at next update  :)

If you look at the actual entries often times there will be an "editors note" which tells you that some form of payment or another is needed. Thanks for the update ot2sen, its nice to see better organization regarding this matter than before.
