iJoomla.com banned unfairly because of my ignorance

Post by rgjoyce » Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:01 am

Having never published a component of my own here and having no need to, I found, due to client responses that there were a couple of serious flaws in a couple of the newest iJoomla components.
I asked that they be unpublished from the site, before we got bad feedback from users, as the feedback that we had was very good at the time and I didn't want to destroy it,  while we rectified the problems.
Merav removed them.

When the problems were resolved, I asked that they be put back, only to find that all our reviews had been removed.
No, being the idiot that I am, I took it upon myself to put them back... Sure I expected them to track my IP and identify me, but I also expected a little common sense from the administrators and that they would contact ME, for a please explain.

But no, deciding that they would play GOD, they have permanently banned iJoomla.com from the extensions site.
I told Merav before they had even been published, that I'd done it and she was furious.(In hindsight, understandably)
Now, having no job except part time tech support, and the possability of having to pay $$$ in compensation, I now have no money to even feed my kids.
Nice one. one simple error.  From such a great team, I expected much more.

I greatly regret what I've done to iJoomla.com
Her business is now destroyed, though no fault of her own.

Guys, please put her site back on, this was my doing, not hers.

If this would have been a first time something like this would have happened, there would have been a warning and that would have been the end of it. The problem is, that this is not an isolated incident. This was the last straw in a series of incidents. This is at least the third time the voting/review system of the Extensions Directory has been abused on different occasions by people from iJoomla, or by people representing them. For each of them, they suhave been warned. There has been another incident as well, for which iJoomla had already been banned from the Extensions Directory for a month. If iJoomla took the other warnings seriously in any way, they would have made sure this was communicated internally. What is so hard to understand about the rules of the Extensions Directory?. By blatantly disregarding warnings over and over again, it's clear to us iJoomla doesn't repect the Extensions Directory in any way besides the money it brings. I'm very sorry for you, but we're not going to change it.
