Extension Sort Order

Correct me if I am wrong but comments on extensions are sorted by how many people found the comment useful. If that is correct I wonder whether that is the best plan. Comments that have been posted for the longest time are more likely to get more 'useful' tags. So often the oldest comments appear at the top. Wouldn't it be more useful to have the newest comments at the top (default sort order)? Many extensions have been improved and developed since the first comments were posted so when I am looking to judge whether to try an extension or not it is the newest comments that are valuable not, for example, the first comment that might have pointed out all the shortfalls which have since been corrected.
