The Joomla! forum is serving over 1100 simultaneous users as I write this, and it's slow. Really slow.
Any chance of a performance enhancement?

I certainly am not having any performance issues at all, might be worth looking in to ISP and/or DNS issues, clear your browser cache, if FF try disabling any extensions, one by one, and see if something there is slowing down the browser.
