Re: Discuss: Joomla! Wins 'Best CMS Award' Again!
Congratulations to the Joomla! community and special thanks to those of you who have contributed from the heart this past year. For two years, now, the core developers have worked and worked to get our new Joomla! v 1.5 core code base ready. During the next two years, it's going to be all about the rest of us - getting the community of contributors organized and involved and helping to take this very good work out to the world. This award is very encouraging.
Respect to the Drupal community! That is another admirable group of people who are passionate and innovative and committed to free software. Keep up the good work.
All together, as a Whole, Joomla!,

This is a good day
This must inspire the dev teams and other work groups a lot. As a regular user - it makes me proud of getting confirmation of that the product i have chosen to use for my sites - is an exelent choise.
There are many factors to considder when choosing your cms system, and i keep getting back to joomla. I feel this award is part of an answer in terms of WHY i keep coming back
I really am glad the work groups and the communety gets this recognition for their continued work and contributions.
Congrats again J!

Actually, they judged it on 1.5!!!!! despite it not being stable. The shape of things yet to come, I'd suggest.

We can't get both... so we are no longer in the running for Overall Winner. My bet would be Drupal

What?? Cant win both - why nominate in two categories then?? and why offer people to wote in two categories - makes no sense.
Can you provide a link to the info that says that Joomla is out of the comp in terms of winning the REALLY big win??

If you read Packt's site, it clearly states that Joomla! is still in the running for the Overall Award. Always a trickey business these awards ... I'm sure Shayne was trying to keep everyone calm.
But I think he's right.
4. A CMS cannot win more than one category. For example the Overall and Most Promising categories must be won by different CMS's. This is to ensure that more than one open source CMS benefits from the Award
Which would indicate that perhaps the best we can hope for is a place in the big award Clear as mud? Hope not.

Re: Discuss: Joomla! Wins 'Best CMS Award' Again!
thanx for clearing it up mediamagnate.
Guess i "got it wrong" after reading this part at the pact myself:
and forgot this part:
Then my bet is Drupal to take home the main price. They are also great.

Re: Discuss: Joomla! Wins 'Best CMS Award' Again!
Let's celebrate this amazing community and all the good that Joomla! is doing the world!
And just think, we just had our 2nd birthday and we haven't even cut Joomla! v 1.5 and the MVC application architecture loose yet.
Rock on! This is a very great day!
Then, tomorrow, let's each find a way to contribute what we have to give.

Re: Discuss: Joomla! Wins 'Best CMS Award' Again!
So is it possible to get the second award?
It will be really stupid if you say that Joomla! is the PHP CMS, but Drupal (ranked 2-nd there) is better in the general category. Funny

It is such a good feeling to be part of a community that produces a even greater "project'.
Every day I amaze myself how easy it is to work with it (once you understand it, as always ).

Re: Discuss: Joomla! Wins 'Best CMS Award' Again!
Ivo, I thought the same, lol.
Then I have realized that this is not a competition, this is just another way to help and promote OS projects and Packt has tried to support as many projects as they can, providing more categories. Let's celebrate it
