I went to the nightly build site http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/17/60/ this morning to see if there had been any changes to the one I downloaded a day or two ago. But on this page there is not a version for the nightly builds. It wasn't until I downloaded it and looked in the CHANGELOG.php that I found a version number and yes today's was newer, so I am using it.
* @version $Id: CHANGELOG.php 9328 2007-11-09 18:59:42Z jinx $
I realize the name nightly build implies that it changes nightly, but was ust wondering of the version number of the nightly builds was posted somewhere. If not, it's not a big deal I will just download and peek inside once and a while to see if I should update my site or not.
Thanks,
augh

Re: Is the nightly build version posted outside of the zip file?
That certainly would be a nice feature. But, augh, I will tell you, I have not seen one day where there were no changes. These guys are constantly working.
If you want more details on the versions and tools to track changes, try out the SVN Tortoise tool. It is pretty easy to use. After installing Tortoise, you can create a folder to hold the development "trunk." Then, right click the folder name, select SVN Checkout, then provide the URL of repository (http://joomlacode.org/svn/joomla/development/trunk) and logon with anonymous / no password and you can get updates at anytime you choose. (Plus version numbers.) It's all described on the same page you download the nightly zip file. An idea, anyway!
Hope you are having fun with Joomla!,

Re: Is the nightly build version posted outside of the zip file?
Thanks Amy, I downloaded it and will give it a try.
Fun? Hmm....well I am learning something new and I think I have a good understanding of the power of Joomla so in that respect I am having fun. I think once I really have a good understanding so I can actually make it work for our new site it will be much more fun. Right now I am in a bit of a frustrating phase, just as I think I know one thing I go and break something else. I am sure I will get there, eventually.....
You don't have mind meld skills available do you?

I downloaded this and have given it a try. It's a Windows Explorer snap-in which works very well.
Thanks Amy!
