Hi.
The support over at the main joomla forum is not as good as the before.
Ive post many question and queries but no answer at all. not even one post.
i know that everyone is busy n such but a limelight hint will at least guide them to something rather then waiting for reply for one months.
Am i in the wrong forum or is there any other "active and live" forum where i can get my doubts cleared?

Any answers that you get at the Joomla! forums is done by other community members and volunteers.
If you don't get any answers then you may want to consider adding additional information to your original post or rephrasing your original question.

There is huge traffic flow here but response or helpful member to beginner is less ....
we like to help but w need the knowledge to help

i just found out an idea for the mods to start helping the forum
before moving the thread to related cat, pls try to answer the thread then move. rather than "Moving this thread to xxxxxxx"

Nope, you're not offending by offering ideas. Ideas are always welcome.
When we want more questions answered on the forum, the moderators are not the ideal place to start. A lot of the moderators are people that post a lot on the forum, and quite a few of them also have other responsibilities on Joomla!. I know most moderators would answer a question if they know it, when moving. Basically we need more new people answering questions.

Tonie is right on here. Check out this frontpage article posted last week. All those workgroups? Many of our moderators are a part of more than one of those. While we are happy to volunteer, it does limit our forum support time.
Is there a working group that you think you could contribute to? Development, Sites and Infrastructure (moderating), Translation, Documentation?
Not interested? That's ok too. By contributing to the forums and answering questions where you can, you help to keep the ball rolling. You set an example for other new members. It's a cycle driven by volunteers. There will never be a guarantee that 100% of your questions will get answered. That said, and in general, you will more often than not get back 100% of what you put in.
In regards to answering questions before we move them, we really do our best. A way you could help here is to make sure that you are posting in the right place to begin with. If you have a question about how to install or configure a particular extension for example, don't ask in General Questions. Ask in the extensions boards. The people with the answers you seek regarding an extension are more likely to be helping out over there. And, if you see a post that is in the wrong board, use the report to moderator link and let us know. The sooner we can move it to the right place, the more likely it will receive a timely response.

I'll tell you a little secret... I started GIVING support to people before I asked my first question here on the forum.
I would read other people's questions, and learn what I needed to know, and then go try it, and then have that info to pass on.
Sure, you won't be able to troubleshoot the crazy stuff, but by now maybe you know how to set the default template. There are plenty of people who come here asking how to do the most basic of Joomla tasks.
If you take the time to answer the simple stuff, that leaves more time for the more advanced users to address more advanced problems.

I support the forums! In case this is a poll, or something.
What is really cool is that we, as end user community members, have a place we can come and ask questions and help one another. I try to help answer questions, too. I spend almost all of my community support time in the v 1.5 forums, now, since that's what I use to build my websites. I learn a great deal from others building sites, as well.

Did you know that a lot of times the best people to answer beginner questions are advanced beginners and intermediates? They usually understand what is confusing and unclear better than more advanced users who have long since had certain things become second nature.
I answered questions my first day on the mambo forums, and I know you can too. And as Wendy said, the more you read the more you can answer. Not to mention, a lot of times the best way to answer a question is with another question ... have you tried this? checked this? read this document? etc.
