Canberra Joomla User Group

Post by freedomoss » Thu Jan 03, 2008 11:41 pm

Hi,

I am just floating this idea. Anybody wants to help and create the Canberra Joomla User Group?

I have been using Joomla since its inception and would like to see more people, non-profit group, small businesses and even the govt institutions to use Joomla CMS in Canberra.

Regards,

Hi freedomoss

Hi from the Sydney group! Just to let you know that the Sydney and Melbourne groups have a shared web site/forum - Joomladay.org.au - and we'd love to have other Aussie groups join in. It gets a fair bit of traffic, so you're welcome to have your own space on there, to help you promote your group and get things started.

If I can be of any other help, please let me know.

good luck!

Hi Dinah or Dex?

Yeah, I want to start or be involved in having a Canberra Joomla User Group out here but I don't know where to start.

Can you provide me some hints? Since you've mentioned the joomladay.org.au website, can we have a slot for Canberra User's Group on the site?

Dex is my joomla name  :)
OK, please supply your preferred username and email address via PM and I will set you up a space and a user. You can then add an article to the home page and if you want, we can give you a Canberra forum.
Let me know.

All I did was put a msg on the joomla forum, as you have done, and rallied a couple of people together to have a first meeting in a pub. We started off just chatting and quickly evolved in to a monthly meeting with topics - this will very much stimulate interest. Two people is enough to get things off the ground! What I discovered is that there are lots of people out there who need help/info on whatever they're working on, so if you can help them, they will probably come.

I can also mention you in our mailout, which will go out today, if you like. Some people out there may have Canberra connections.

cheers
Dex
