Post by LikeStuff » Thu Feb 14, 2008 1:35 am

When I do a search it takes me back to the list of forums or I get an error message.

Please bring the search back!!! please....waiting on it for few days....

I thought a forum this size, would definitely create a QA version of everything first. Make sure all features are working before going live...

While not a perfect solution, remember that you can still search with Google and retrieve a cached version from the previous forum. This helped me tremendously yesterday.

Hi,

I'm very desapointed about the new forum. :(
I'm not able to perform search and the forum is very slow.
(and PHPBB is not a secure forum)

I hope you will switch to VB or go back to the old forum.

This forum is one of the biggest and important one for Joomla support, so it's deserve the best.

As brad has repeated (over and over), you will be able to search more posts as the board is re-indexed. It just takes time, sorry it’s not instant.

phpBB3 is completely secure, it underwent a Security Audit by one PHP’s foremost security experts: Stefan Esser.

This is what I love having a phpbb3 mod over here.
Thanks for stopping by, Highway of Life!

I'm happy you switched to phpbb, but I am definitely disappointed in the lack of searchability. I know it's probably not realistic to use phpbb's search function due to the age and size of this forum & the amount of time it would take to rebuild the search word table, but .... waaaaaahhhhh. I need to be able to search this forum :'(

Today :-\

Nevermind... I actually took the time to find the proper forum for my question, which was easy to do with the new structure.

Thanks for continuing the good work on the free software that keeps me in business.

Sorry, I had to drop the search index when I converted some tables to innodb. I'm aiming to try and get a different search engine installed next week, but we will see.

Thanks for your patience.
