Backend functionality in front end

I have been going through a textbook called "Learning Joomla! 1.5 Extension Development" and I basically walks you through making some things including a component for restaurant reviews. The component that I have made gives you a grid in the backend of joomla with the toolbar and the ability to edit and create new entrys etc. I have modified this so that I has what I want but what I want the grid and the toolbar etc in the front end that the users will see rather that just the admin.

Is this possible?
