Trying to generate Itemid in admin panel

I am trying to generate the Itemid for a particular content item. How do I go about doing this? I can easily get the content item's ID but am having difficulties getting the exact Itemid. It appears that there is a series of queries on the front-end side of J! to generate this, but they are not available to the back-end side of things.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
