Membership and online subscription/renewal system

My organisation is a UK based international distaster relief NGO. As manager of the membership department I am looking to develop a membership portal system that allows for online subscriptions/renewals etc.

My ideal scenario looks a little like civiCRM CiviMember (http://objectledge.org/confluence/displ ... CiviMember), a candidate feature of version 2.0, however I am in something of a hurry.

Can anyone advise on systems that can offer this kind of functionality?

Alternatively if people are willing to work with us (CiviCRM folks) to make CiviMember a reality at an earlier date (by donating developer time and/or resources) we could get that going on in parallel with the rest of our stuff
