Annoying Link Hover Effect on These Forums

Post by Joo » Mon Dec 19, 2005 10:26 pm

Don't you think so?
I mean, all links that are bold and when you hover over them they became normal. They are shaking and moving in all directions.. Since bold text takes more space, sometimes a topic title is wraped into two lines.. when you hover it, it skrinks to one line.. sometimes escaping your mouse "hand" like it's fearing the click  :)

It's better to apply another style, like having bold links in both states, just adding "a.hover {text-decoration: underline} for instance. Otherwise it affects the whole layout. Even tables are shrinking when you hover the different columns' headings.

Thanks for looking at this.

I'm using IE 6 on windows XP. I've just noticed that in Firefox, there are no bold links.
It's obvious what the developers who styled the forum are using  :)

See the screeshot. It's an animation just to better show what i mean.

Guess most are using FF  otherwise there where a comment earlier.
The "Humor, Fun and Games" forum has  more than 2500 Posts, so why not build a "Humor, Fun and Games Working" Group?
.....
Malicious tongues say we have this WG right from the start, they call it core team :D

I was going to post this untill IE became unusable 3 days ago (would open and just freeze, never load a site). I cleaned cace, no go, I edited the registry to pretend it was not installed in order to reinstall, but it wouldn't let me even though the registry hack was straight from M$ own knowledgebase (error about never version already installed), so now, I do not have IE anymore, set FF as default, and am still alive! :)
I'd like to get it back though as all bookmarks are in there.. :(

But Firefox usually asks you to import those... because Firefox was listening to your KB-hack and pretended the IE is not there?
You could try to use Bookmarks -> Bookmark Manager -> Import

That's what I did indeed right after I posted this, worked like a charm.. sometimes writing stuff down gives you new ideas :)
FF was already installed, but only used as 2nd browser..
Thanks ;)
