1st let me say that joomla is quite an effort from the developer community & thanks to all those who have made this possible.
As a newbie who started CMS experience directly with joomla I find that it needs to be more friendly with certain instructions. I list few here.
1. after failing to install mod with mambots installer & com with module installer I finally got to know that different files are meant to be installed with different installers. I wish some note can be made available in the admin area before trying to install about the requirements.
2. as a newbie I dont know how component/module/mambots work, so after installation there should be a detailed description available when ever I need to use them.
I installed extended menu, it shows on my homepage but now I have to add menu items to it & dont know how to do it, sure I will find it but a better way would be to have that info on the admin page of that extension.
3. Same is the case with fade image plugin, installed it fine, when I want to use it I dont see any instruction so I had to go to the developer site to see the demo & instruction to use it.
another problem I face is that after plugin installation I have to switch on it manually, should it be not on by default, since I have loaded it to be used.
These are few suggestion to the developer of joomla & the extension developer, hope something can be done to improve the user friendliness of these components.
Thanks for everything.

Re: request to developers
ranjan- thanks for these suggestions. These are exactly the types of things that we're hoping the Extension Directory will promote.
