New Logo
New Logo
WE need a logo.
Please suggest a logo in this forum. You do not need to be an amazing artist. The idea can be turned into a masterpiece later.
We will make a shortlist of entries for you to decide on.
Please note that the logo should be easily repoducable in small and large sizes and should not contain any defamatory content.

Re: New Logo
Wel I think that the logo should be a large J with some sort of ring around it to show the unity of the community.
Maybe something along the lines of the Olympic rings, but not sure how you could integrate this....
Possibly different colours of the letter to visualise version number or something different??

Re: New Logo
is there a type of swahili writing that can be taken (a "J" perhaps, or the whole word?), made a little funky, and act as a logo?

Re: New Logo
I like the idea of the os being two interlocking circles, representing the connectedness of the community.

That's quick. and I like it already, although I like pretty much all of the other suggestions already.
Just looks a little "simple" and maybe needs just a little bit of colour a bit "glossier"
How about interlocking the "oo" also??
Thanks for the illustration of my idea.....!

Re: New Logo
The previous with the O's interlocked
or
something more cryptic (supposed to be just "j!") the blade feel of the elements suggests cutting edge...
This is way too busy, but it might be nice to tie the opensource matters into the central jo"om"la
and another on the arrow theme...
Here's a variation on the original symmetry of the "j!" that incorporates the interlocking "o's" representing the community and infinity, and also manages to fit the opensource element in a little more elegantly.
When you drop it from the full name to just the logo (second panel) there is an os. element incorporated (stands for open source period! see third panel) or oso (stands for open source only)
The red os. looks like a percent sign as well which could be integrated with a slogan along the lines of 100% opensource.
Also just noticed that the j suggests a person (fourth panel), and the ! a person on their head "joomla is so original it turns people's ideas about CMS ontheir heads...
Sorry about the colors, I know nothing about design... feel free to modify at will.
