Good move, doing upgrade now is better than when the whole extension server down.People are actively and crazily clicking on the extension since it has been launched over the week.

Just a suggestion, I've been clicking on that link all afternoon before venturing into the forums.. Put a news post on the main Joomla site about it so people like me don't keep hammering it in hopes to get some of the new extension goodness! I'm absolutely thrilled with Joomla and the entire project. I'm restructuring the way I do ALL of our webhosting!

As long as your ISP's dns server is updating as it should.. the site should be back up for almost everyone now.

Well, considering this is my first time into this site, and the first time attempting to get into the Extensions.... the cache shouldn't matter. Connection is a high-speed cable modem conenction (700kps) so that shouldn't matter..... no idea....
