I don't know about this, it remind's me of yin an yang. That might be a good thing though, tie in with the infinity theme.

okay, my colors are a little bright

a little cleaner:

Love the color scheme so wanted to stick with the same look. The first one shows the logo by itself. The second shows my guides to show that everything is very specifically placed for a reason (and that I'm anal about good design structure  ). The upside down "j" in the orb represents the "!" and the "oo" in the type represents community/infinity.

nice work    I agree with you in the view of "oo" .. community/infinity/eight, but let me have some associations for the logo "j" and the upside down of "j". For me: white, clear, heaven, ... dark, death, fear. "j" ... snorkel ... breath ... upside down ... snorkel ... no breath ... red face ... end of the story ...

I guess a "bottom opend oo" is only inspired from "earth" and not from "heaven". "8" is a symbol for infinity and the "8" is broken. I don´t like it
