If anyone interested, my department could sponsor a dedicated Joomla web server to exchange Joomla CMS experience/knowledge, create a module/component repository and provide some help for non-profit organizations. Requirements will be:
1. Only non-profit related content (absolutely no commercial activity)
2. Volunteers to help maintain the web site

Hi there MolBio,
I'm interested to hear more about your thoughts on this. Why would your department want to undertake this? What are your thoughts as to what you'd like to see?
Best,
Ryan

Hello Molbio,
This is just talking or you are serious!!!
How can we contact you?
I think many websites (participants) within Joomla would qualify for the 2 requirements.

Re: dedicated web server for non-profit organizations
That's very generous of you.
My non-profit organization is located in Thailand. It is named Isara (freedom) and our website http://www.isara.com generates donations via advertisements. Basically the same business practices that have made google, yahoo, and other sites mega-rich, we use to fund charity projects. Everyone involved is a volunteer and 100% of all funds are donated to the charity projects we've created (education, health, enviromental, etc.). We are hoping to expand to other areas of the world soon.
Please check out the site, photos, videos, and let me know what you think.
Pk

It sounds to me that his department can get *themselves* a Joomla server if someone can develop for them.
