Re: New Logo
three variations on my logo. For these three, I've spaced the j's out some more, and given three distinct looks. I've also decided to eliminate some clutter and post linked thumbnails

Good job farimi.
Can we maintain a seperate thread with just the logos and no comments?
I think looking at all of them together really helps.

Very nice artwork, but I feel I should point out...
When I see that picture, the first thing that pops into my head is "ladybug".
Probably don't want people associating "bug" with the product.

guys, there are some logos i didnt put in. Maybe because it is tooooooo big and i cant even look at it or it has the same original form. You know, people got the designer idea for the first time. And maybe i post it twice or many times... well i am sleepy.
Anyway, this is a wrap. until tomorrow.

Re: New Logo
Hey farimi,
Thanks for the summary, just wanted to add this because although you included all my other attempts, the only one I sort of liked from way back on page one got left out somehow.

Here's a variation on the original symmetry of the "j!" that incorporates the interlocking "o's" representing the community and infinity, and also manages to fit the opensource element in a little more elegantly.
When you drop it from the full name to just the logo (second panel) there is an os. element incorporated (stands for open source period! see third panel) or oso (stands for open source only)
The red os. looks like a percent sign as well which could be integrated with a slogan along the lines of 100% opensource.
Also just noticed that the j suggests a person (fourth panel), and the ! a person on their head "joomla is so original it turns people's ideas about CMS ontheir heads...
Sorry about the colors, I know nothing about design... feel free to modify at will.
