New Logo
Re: New Logo
Here goes the second one.. I was thinking what Joomla! has new... I think it's the power and freedom of the code together.. so here it goes a happy flying guy
One quick note that I didn't fix the font.. I just thought more important than words will be a neat logo to use (like nicks's flower).. hence just some text to accompany the logo.

These both look really cool, I like the first better though.

It's a good idea, with an idea
Perhaps it’s better if the people in front of the “J” have an other color : red or orange

The job of a logo is advertisement. Communication is just one aspect of advertisement. I have multiple work vehicles for a business that I created many years ago that advertise a business brand. It wasn't created for friendship or warmth. It was created to promote and advertise a brand.

There are plenty of prefessional designs here. If the Core wants to involve the community the new logo should come from here. There is no excuse for going anyplace else!!!

Brilliant design, it fits all the criteria for a logo, easy to reproduce in any medium! Also a graphic artists dream design!

Although the survey results aren't on the site to double-check the actual numbers anymore, it seems to me that for every question where "powerful" (or a related term) was available, it was chosen by a fairly significant majority. So, since the name itself has a "fun" kind of feel to it, and the meaning has some "warmth" and "friendship" feel, perhaps a logo should embody the "powerful" feel?

I like both the icon and the font there. Looks nice And not too cartoonish either, despite the lack of symmetry in the text.

Re: New Logo
In the spirit of "Let's give a hand to one another," here's another.
So far, I like the original hand partly because it's so simple, attractive, and powerful, and there's so much you can easily do with it by way of personalizing it. By itself, the hand is an expressive symbol. It's sticky. The color association with google, etc., is obvious, but I think not overblown, and the association also is one that immediately conveys power.

Isn't this the logo of conAgra or the wheatfarmers of Kansas or something? I know I recognize it, I just don't know where from.
If I haven't seen it before with someone elses trademark next to it then I think it's got real potential because it must have some subliminal connection through the collective consciouness.. it sure seems familiar.

I must admit, that together with the great hand by Peek, this one is very good too. Thing is; it sticks out, even without the 'people' in front.
If you put this name on a, for instance, a pen and the word is resize to 0.5cm x 2.0cm it is still readable and best thing yet: you'll recognize it immediately.. and that's powerful... I'm not sure about the logo, but the word is definitely very good..
