Re: New Logo
I'm very happy for ALL those posts and above all for their quality!
An idea: submit all logos in a gallery, with comments and so on.... why not?
So for avoiding any misunderstandings or lost possibilities, or... for being more community, ok?

Re: New Logo
Okay, maybe I'm the only one that thinks there's too much going on in the logo above...so I guess I'll just show what I was talking about when I said lose the "infinity symbol". I think it's a strong symbol but is downplayed by the "infinity" symbol. Well here it is...the typestyle can change...I'm sure there's infinate possibilities out there...but I think this font suits it.
Doe's anyone agree with me?
I have to say, I like this version of the logo. I may be speaking out of turn but this is a logo I would use in the footer of my websites even on the church site I host. I like it allot!

Re: New Logo
I think slogan has to be "together" with its logo! So for avoiding an abstract idea with an "out of slogan" logo.

Re: New Logo
thank you to contributors.
im receiving lot of logos now. This is going well.
if you have more than 1 logo, maybe can you can just zip the files. If it posible, the logo should be in 300 X 200px or in its reign.

Re: New Logo
Hi,
someone mentioned it before: The name says: "All together" - now some are trying to make the logo look "All together" - at least the slogan will be "All together"... so we have everything saying: "All together"... all together WHAT? Logo and/or slogan should at least help new people to see that there is a CMS behind it. Don't you think?
Other things i recognized:
Mh... just picked that one out of many - doesn't those sculpture-logos look like advertising for the new "Expert Kamasutra - for 3 to 99 people"? Isn't it "too sexy" for the United States? (When i see what's going on with games like GTA-SanAndreas... killing people is ok, but naked women could harm youth)
or this one:
Nice logo... but the more i look at it: I don't feel invited to join this circle (of existing people) - where is the room for new people? Well, it symbols a community, but a closed not open community. I get the feeling of seeing a "group of experts living in their own world"... i'm to shy to ask if they would let me in...
Maybe someone could modify this: Take the green guy out of the circle (that would make the community look more open, there would be place for new people, at least it looks less like the known asteriks/flower).
Instead of the green guy there should be a green arrow pointing into that circle... or anything else that says to me: "You're welcome to join our community"
Never stop working

Re: New Logo
With all respect to the designers, I realy don't the idea to base the logo in the mambo flower, I mean, we should look diferent, not a feel like a copy... . IMO, the logo must be asymmetric and something different than a asterisk or a gear. It should have a only style sign or anything that's easy to fix in your mind.
It's very important to have the logo in black and white (2 colors) too ,also with a vectorial format, be sure all parts of the design are vectorial. I saw some photoshop logos with shadows and 3d bevel effects... I don't think they are vectorial. Also remember to use GPL fonts.
We are almost there

Re: New Logo
After a swift browsing through all the posts I would like to make a plea.
Please dont decide for a logo that can in any way be associated with the old Mambo flower. That flower, for me atleast, is as much a symbol for mambo as it is for Miro.

Group of people in circle : YES!
Open circle (like in logo of OpenSource) : YES!
Simple, typographic design (instead of bitmaps, shadows) : YES

I don't agree with you.
As I said before, we have to know our name. Remember what we come from and what is our history.
It's the first way to forge our identity.
The next thing is what we want to do and to offer to our users. Because we don't really know which way users will choose ther "distribution".
I'm affrayed there will be a "professionnal" and a "home"(Joomla!) version.
Recents awards attracted new users. Do they know the diffrence beetween they and us?
What are the reasons for this "newcomers" to chose our version instead of the other?
Please don't answer immediatly but think about it!
I think it's a marketing battle(I hope not a war) that has been started...

It's just base of the idea, probably anyone can change it. My thought was, crating a logo, that can be used everywhere no matter what you do with it (print it on a shirt or whatever, make a sticker out of it for your car,...). So thats why i've chosen a simple singlelayered 2 color-Logo.
but it would probably be a good idea, making a gallery with commenting and vote-system!

Re: New Logo
Okay guys....
I done collecting all your logos post. 54 thread! man !!! Huh 7 hours of work!
Thanks for sending me all those logos to my email. Unfortunately, it seems that it is more faster to collect the logos post in the forum than waiting for emails. So i decided that no more emails should come to me afterwards. You can post your wonderful work in the forum and i will collect it.
My sincere apologise if i miss some post. Anyway, you can always inform me to include it if it is not in the gallery later.
Okay... now this seem odd, but, please do not send emails to me..
Many thanks to our members who sent me the 300 x 200 px logos.. You make my work easy.
I dont know when we will see the gallery cause im only gathering the logos but someone else will do the gallery.
till then... arghh... i need a coffee.
