Have you seen this on the dev site? This consists of project creation rules and general rules.

I was wondering whether hosting a commercial joomla! component SVN there is allowed or not. Couldn't see such a restriction in the rules. please correct me if I am wrong.

You are right, the rules don't actually state this. Unfortunately, we will not allow commercial components as a project on Joomla Forge! We think it a bit strange to allow commercial components to use resources that are given by another company for free. I will update the rules regarding this, so it will be clearer in future. Thanks for understanding.
