Forum Error - Number of Views increments everytime i see the same topic

hey mod,
Not sure if its a error but shouldnt the number of views be unique. Every time i visit a thread the number of views increments. Isnt it supposed to increment only if a new person views the thread. ( I dont know i could be wrong) or only after the thread has been updated.

Maybe there are heaps of people/bots visiting the same thread??

No i checked you try it just look at the number of views before looking up a thread then look up the thread .. then go back and see the number of views ....... you can keep doing this and every the number of views increments... even though you looked up before and no changes had been made to that thread

Maybe it counts as a view then...

Perhaps [unknow] (SMF dev) will be able to enlighten us.

yeah ok .....
i get a feeling the views are getting counted everytime we check the page and there is no check to see if the user has already seen the page.

It would be nice if at least the thread author's click-throughs didn't count as visits.

By the way noticed that you guys are running a beta version of the forum.........so maybe its a bug and needs to be reported

If you view multiple pages inside a topic, you will only add one view for the topic. Basically, if the last topic you viewed is the topic in question, you won't increment the number of views.

Otherwise, it will be incremented - whether you viewed it yesterday or not.
