Notify and quotes

Like many people, I hope, I use the notify feature of this forum to recieve follow up posts etc from this forum by email. (It is particulalry useful to see the original post and not the edited post that is often left behind or posts subsequently deleted by moderators)

Unfortunately there is no demarkation in the email as to what is the new post and what is quoted text. This can make the emails a bit wierd. Is this someting tht can be modified by a SMF hack or configuration. Would be really apprecaited if tis could be looked into.

Despite your swipe at the moderators of this forum, who work hard to support Joomla, I've spent the last 45 mins looking into this issue for you.

At the moment in SMF 1.1 I think it is a bit of a tall order. The text that is emailed is a copy of what is visible to the eye in the thread. Quotes in thread have a different colored background to the rest of the post, and this is not able to be represented in the plain text of the email.

It was not a swipe at the moderators, sorry you saw it that way. The fact is that several times forums have been locked and reopened by moderators and posts have been made which have subsequently been edited without reference to the edits.

Thanks for looking into it tho0ugh. I suspected that it might not be possible but held out hope anyway. I will keep an eye on the SMF thread you mention

Ah I guess that is why in the wap interface you cant see a demarkation of quotes as well
