I have upgraded from 1.0.7 to .9, skipping .8 because of various quickly confirmed bugs.
Now it appears there might also be some some more or less serious issues with (mostly) caching in .9, and also some other areas.
Currently, Q&T only divides between 1.x and 1.5.
Would it maybe be possible to separate 1.x into subforums deleaing with the individual releases only, as there's now stuff in there from various releases, with various status (statii -is that latin..? ), and it's a bit hard to find a/confirmed bugs for latest relaese and b/solutions!?
Thanks for considering. Or any other solution to make bugs/fixes quicker to find..
Separate versions in Q&T forums please

I think that is an excellent idea eyezberg.

Re: Separate versions in Q&T forums please
While I understand the idea behind the proposal, one needs to understand the purpose and use of the 1.0.x Q&T forums.
Its primary process is to act as a Bug Tracker for the Stability Team & the Q&T WG.
This is because of the limitations within the Forge bug tracker system, which does not allow additional comments by other users for a report. Also most `normal` users find the tracker difficult to understand and use, especially if they have had no experience with software bug tracking systems.
To this end the Q&T Forum was created to enable users to alternatively make their bug reports. Q&T WG members assist the Stability work by testing and commenting on these reports, where necessary changing the status of the reports and sometimes adding reports to the forge tracker with redirects to the forum report.
For Stability work the process is that we follow the bug reports in the Forge Tracker and the 1.0.x Q&T Forum this gives an imediate overview of open, confirmed bugs that can be actioned and those bugs that are yet to be confirmed and need to be investigated.
Once actioned and resolved they are then shifted out of the main 1.0.x Q&T forum to reduce the clutter.
By partioning forums into separate Stability Release numbers we immediately lose the overview ability available by only having one main forum for reports - for the same reason in the tracker there is only a 1.0.x tracker. This then fixing and testing the bugs woudl need to monitor 9 forum areas rather than 1 (increasing with every release).
Secondly the ease of report for users is mitigated by the fact that need to first determine which forum number their report applies to. And then there is the problem of determining whether the issue truly applies to the release number indicated, what do you do in circumstances where the bug actually applies to even earlier stabiility versions. Q&T WG members would now then need to test exactly what version the problem exists in, rather than simply testing whether it applies to the current release.
All of this then increases the workload of those involved in the process and complicate the workflow process.
Which runs counter to the reason for the creation of the forum are, which is to increase efficiency and improve the workflow process of the team.
The Q&T Forums were and never intended as a support area, like the other forum areas, it was created as a tool to assist the workflow of the Stability and Q&T process
