Notifications - no email from announcements

Hi

I am signed up for notifications from this board and announcements but I don't get emails when an announcement has been made. In light of the recent security announcement I would have liked an email about it.

Is the a problem generally on this board or am I missing something. I have checked my profile and it seems I have got notifications selected

Any ideas?

Did you specifically activate notifications from the `announcements` forum:

Announcements from the Joomla! Core Team for the attention of all Users. We encourage all Joomla users to subscribe to announcements by Clicking Here.

I didn't get any notification either.

I didn't get any notification about the 1.0.9 announcement a few weeks ago. I had gotten ALL announcements (last one being Google Summer of Code) prior to that. Following that, i unsubscribed to the board, then RE-subscribed, and still is not working.
This issue was reported a few weeks ago here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,67686.0.html, and i PM the requested info to user Rochen and never heard anything back.

Let me know if there is any information anyone else would like...

Sorry for not getting back to you nathandiehl. I didn't forget about this though

From what I can tell there is no issue on the server itself as such. For example, there are only 40 messages sitting in the mail queue at the moment. I am not saying the script being used to send the mailing is to blame but that might be something worth investigating here.

I would also advise everyone to check their "Junk Mail" folder just to ensure the message has not been flagged as UCE / SPAM and double verify that you are actually subscribed.

I am our sys admin, and this was NOT in the junk mail.
This was not marked as spam and was not marked as junk. I have Thunderbird filter spam and junk, and it is not in either filtered folder.

As i stated previously, i have ALWAYS gotten each and every notification prior to the 1.0.9 announcement.
Between the 1.0.9 and 1.0.10 announcements, i unsubscribed and resubscribed, and 1.0.10 still was not received. I do recieve all PMs notification emails, but am not subscribed to any topics.

When i go to my profile-->Notifications and Email

It shows i AM subscribed to the Announcements Board.


FYI, I just subscribed to this topic (and this topic only), so i can answer your earlier question whether we receive an email notifying of new replies...

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

This is a test message reply to see if i get an email notifcation. I will edit this post later to give results.

EDIT: No Email. Perhaps the system doesn't notify if i reply myself?

okay, thought i'd pass a bit of an update:

I did get an email notification from this board, for Tonie's reply. (Delivered to my Inbox (NOT Junk or SPAM folders), as the Announcement Notifications used to)

I checked the message, and my spam filters marked it as 0.0 score of spam. (meaning that the Email passed each and every spam filter).

Tonie's reply is timestamped on the forum at: 1:36:47
The Email Generated by the notification was:  1:36:53

Please let me know any more assistance/information I may be able to provide.

I can confirm that there does seem to be some issue with  SMF and notification to *some* users. I have spokne to some of the guys at SMF, however until 1.1 stable is released, I'm not sure we can do much....

okay, well that is a good answer for me, i guess. (yeah i'd rather have a solution and all...)

Thanks for the info and stopping by to let us know what you found. It's odd that i can get notifications of other boards, just not the announcement board.

If it makes you feel better, I also missed out on that last one.. But have been getting notifications everywhere else though.
