Yep, this event was great; really useful and a great time. As someone said earlier, 1.5 does look really exciting - there seem to be some incredible "under the bonnet" changes, as well as surface ones. Thanks to Brian for organising this and err....see you all next year!
p.s. looking forward to the Joomla! 2.0 preview next year

Re: Joomla! Day UK - July 30th
Spot On!
What a way to make my FIRST post other than to say that Joomla! Day was FANTASTIC!
I'm fairly new to this Joomla! marlakey and have been really enjoying it, but previously had no real feel for how strong the Community is - meeting some of the biggest players was a real eye-opener!
As mentioned in the great day report http://www.joomla.org/content/view/1682/42/, there was a great turnout and it was really exciting to get a proper tour of Joomla! 1.5!
Met some really nice people and have a LOAD of emails to send out now - not only was Joomla! Day great training but it was fantastic networking!
Thanks again to Brian and thanks to absolutely everybody that has had a hand in getting Joomla! to the big 1st birthday! (terrible two's next!)

Echoing Mark's comments above really - I just wanted to add my 20p to the conversation.
It was a real pleasure to meet you guys, I had an amazing time getting to know more about Joomla, eating stupid amounts of Chinese, drinking more cans of RedBull than I do when I go out on the town for the evening and talking geek (my all time favorite language).
Brian - thanks for spending all the time to organise the event, I can't stress enough exactly how important I feel it was. Thanks must also goto each and every one of the speakers - you guys kept me interested and informed throughout.
Hope to see you all again really soon! Anyone got any photos?
Oh, and now I really can't wait to get my hands on a FINAL version of 1.5

Re: Joomla! Day UK - July 30th
Sorry - I couldnt make it, but there were a couple of issues keeping me away...
Any way - my loss.
Glad it went ok - and look forward to reading more on the event (I hope there will be a report on the information shared!!)

Cake and a Sing Song? Sounds all very Enid Blyton!
- family demands
- Leeds is a long way for me.. especialy as I didnt know how popular an event it was going to be (Couldnt face the 200 + mile drive to meet half a dozne geeks in a pub! - if only I had know.)
- I am a nooby user of Joomla, with no PHP or MySQL experience (yet) so felt I would be out of my depth, listening to experts talking 'geek'
Any way - my loss.

Re: Joomla! Day UK - July 30th
Thanks again Brian for all of the work you put into the organisation of yesterday’s event. I will be sure to shoot an email over to you today with a copy of my presentation.
It was certainly a great day and being able to meet everyone who had previously only been forum names was fantastic.
I hope everyone has a good trip home. I got back around 9PM last night.

The only thing that upset me was... Igor didn't match Barrie's offer of a 50% discount
