School site getting ready for Aug. 1 launch

Post by HalJordan » Sun Jul 23, 2006 3:36 am

I have been spending quite a few hours (!) developing a new portal site for our school. We had been using php-nuke (still live at www.stfrancishighschool.com/nuke), but the site needed to be upgraded and redesigned. It seemed easier to move to Joomla. After playing with Mambo and Joomla for about a year, I decided to relaunch the site using Joomla. Please give me your feedback. The new Wyvern Portal is at www.stfrancishighschool.com/mambo.

Thanks!

Nice Work.

I like the color scheme and what you done with the site.  I did notice that I was able to click on "Add Event" on your calendar.  I'm not sure if you wanted that to be available to anyone, or if you just overlooked it!  I personally did not want just anyone adding things to our Calendar.....

peace,

Thanks. I used the comproleen-purple theme.

I have switched to a different calendar, too.

Hi, Hal!
You are using the ExtCal minical module, ain'tcha? Well, it looks like you have the Calendar settings configured to allow anonymous posting to your Calendar, because the "Post New Event" link is visible at the bottom of the Calendar module. That's what TJ meant.
Other than that, the site looks OK.
