Only Naples (Italy) Not-For-Profit Website Powered by Joomla!!!
Only Naples (Italy) Not-For-Profit Website Powered by Joomla!!!
I just recently stood up a non-profit organization supporting the US Military and Civilian members and families located in Naples, Italy. The organization is called NaplesTalk Association and the website is http://www.naplestalk.org. The focus of the association will be on community involvement where the aggregation of a community member’s action, ideas, and experiences can be used to make our community more compelling. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Hi,
Nice site.
How did you integrate the Weather Channel info and how did you change the colours and remove the airport links?
David

Here is the current website.
www.brookmans.com
that's all hand coded and fairly rough (did it all myself in TextPad)
and this is the version I am trying to build with Joomla.
http://www.brookmans.com/cms/
I reckon it'll take me a few weeks to get everything right, although I have a few great pals helping out.

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me asking you another question. I downloaded the weather component and have made a link to it from my index, but when I click on it I get this message.
I have a sinking feeling I need to install/upload something else?
Any clues?
I'd love to have it looking like the weather on your site.

According to a topic in MamboBaer.de forums, these errors are common when the component cannot retrieve the data from weather.com. You may have to utilize the proxy settings in the component. It is also suggested to CHMOD the installed files/folders to 0777 to test for permission problems. Good luck!

Hi!
Thats a pretty nice looking website there with some great quirky little features going on.
Did you create the template yourself? If so thats some pretty impressive work I must say.
As a person having many connections with the Napoli area I also had a kinda personal interest in this site. It certainly looks like it is serving its purpose.
One thing though; the poll. The results are definately right. Of course Italiano pizza is better. The pizza was created in Napoli and is originally Italian and then you guys went and started making it and ruined it with pineapple!

But great site.... and an excellent use of Joomla to build a community ...
Now how about where can I get "Mozeralla of Buffalo" delivered direct from still wrapped in paper or better still "cream of Ischia" (sorry can't actually use the proper names because of board rules)
Re: Only Naples (Italy) Not-For-Profit Website Powered by Joomla!!!
Hi once again td4!
No problemo on the compliment front, it was all well deserved.
One thing I did forget to ask about was your directory page. I am looking to do exactly the same sort of thing on the website that I am working on at the moment. I was wondering if you could give me some info on it. For example where you got it from, how it works etc

Hi td4 -
Great site. I am wondering if you wouldn't mind posting a list of the component you have used. I really like the site stats, gallery, most popular links, classifieds etc...
Cheers,
m.
