Serious problems at sourceforge and online-demo

Post by Geraint » Mon Sep 19, 2005 7:47 am

I can't access developer.joomla.org

A SourceForge system error has occurred. No such service: ConfigurationService

If you feel you have received this message in error, please contact the SourceForge administrator and reference this tracking number: exid4223FAE901066D52673E80E0

Earlier I did get through but couldn't register (some internal connection timeout if I remember the message).  Probably an overload situation but thought I'd highlight the problem in case it was more serious.

Online demo was also messed up a few minutes ago (lots of "invalid arguments to foreach" messages) - seems fixed now though.

May have been a temporary glitch - it all appears to be back now.  If it was an overload it may be a good idea to set up a more meaningful error message.

Geraint.

p.s. My forge registration email didn't made it through but a resend 10-15 minutes later worked

I'll check with the support team and see what the problem was (I din't experience this myself -- likely was in the land of Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's)

We got paged early this morning. The site reached the maximum JBOSS data source connections. I shut it down, doubled the max connections to 100, and started it back up. Everything is kosher now.

If you want a better error message than '502 Gateway unreachable' just work up a nice little HTML document and open an artifact in the Support tracker on developer.joomla.org and ask us to put it in place. Fairly trivial for us to do. Thanks!

Thanks for handling so swiftly Doug. Much appreciated.

I'll have Julie define a page that can be displayed when the site is down (which will be very infrequently!).

Thanks!
