We started up with a dinner in the evening and the meeting itself was held the day after. We wanted, this first time, hold the meeting very small and therefore we hadn't market it outside the Swedish forum. Nevertheless 20 people from our community registered themselves and came to the meeting.
The aim of the meeting was to:
- Meet, get to know eachother and have a nice time.
- Discuss the continuation and how to strengthen the Swedish Joomla! community
- Discuss how to organize a bigger and more public Joomla! events
- Get informed about the new upcomming Joomla! 1.5
- Listen on a SEO lecture
- ... and talk about Joomla!
Amongst the participants, we were hobbyists, professionals, ISP, translators and developers.
The day started with the presentations and after the lunch, we started to discuss how to arrange a broad, public Joomla! weekend with workshops and lectures. We decided to found a Swedish Joomla! User Association for to better be able to organize events in the future and to strengthen the community. We designated 3 community members to found the new Association.
We decided that we definitely wanted to arrange such event next spring.
