Bug Tracker: fixed in version field

Post by musicones » Mon Sep 19, 2005 9:26 pm

Hi,

I like to use the fixed in version field in the bug-tracker.
But to use it I had to set up an release of File Releases with no files,
so that I could select it from the bug-tracker.

Thats not good because people think that there is an release but it's only for technical reason
in real there are no files in it.

I've seen that for the joomla! project itself in an artifact the field is used with version 1.0.1
but no release is set up. How did they do that?

We disabled the default 'Fixed in Version' field and created a new form field with the same name and with our own values.

When you go to the 'Admin' aera of your project you can add, modify, remove, disable and enable certain fields for you tracker

One thing is left unclear now.
An fix to an certain release has been
showed up under file releases.

Now using an custom field, how can I do that?
I've seen on the joomla! project that the count of fixes
etc. still works.

The File Release "reported tracker artifacts" and "fixed tracker artifacts" are keyed off the Reported in Release & Fixed in Release fields

The use of this capability in the Joomla! project is a good example of how it works. I recommend project
admins take a look at the "reported tracker artifacts" and "fixed tracker artifacts" tabs in the File Release system and how they
map to the trackers supported by the project.

This is one capability for which I will recommend that you take a quick look at the on-line documentation:

Associating tracker artifacts with file releases, Page 45 of the SourceForge User Guide.
The User Guide is accessible from the developer.joomla.org home page.
