It looks to me like joomla.org uses some design functions that are not part of joomla 1.0. I mean like individual colors for the top mainmenu items and a more advanced highlighting system for menu's and submenu's. Isn't that a little strange?
Of course one of the great things of Joomla! is that every user can adjust it to his/hers own needs, but it would be very nice if the essential function I mentioned above could be explained to all users.
Now joomla.org shows possibilities of Joomla! only an experienced designer/coder like rhuk can achieve.

Re: Hacks in joomla.org?
Change the colors / alternate the template at different menu items is a really nice feature/hack, and I am greatly interested in more informations about how to do this with Joomla!
Re: Hacks in joomla.org?
Well that is an easy thing to do, just assign templates in the templatemanager. That is not what I meant, this is a standard Joomla! feature.

Great, thanks for this hint!
I am working with Mambo/Joomla! for over 2 years, but never saw this option!
