Spam on demo.joomla.org

As the demo site went down due to copius amounts of spam, might I suggest people look here:
http://www.scripts.oldguy.us/akismet-class-doc.php
to develop some form of mambot that can be applied (in the same way the Drupal module for Akismet works, from what I've had a look at - v 1.1.3) for all core processes (content, comments, components inside core products + UGC news submission to news.joomla.org / reviews on extensions.joomla.org ) ?
