developer.joomla.org 2 questions

Post by cpzhao » Wed Sep 21, 2005 1:53 pm

1. How can I see older news.  The site currently just show 5 on the front page.  Wouldn't it be good to see older news?

2. How do I see the file licenses for different project?  Or are they all GPL?

These features were available on the old forge...

1. I'm not sure, but it would be nice to figure out how to access the archive.

2. When in doubt it is best to check the actual release files. None the less, an option to include a license would be great. :)

1. I think I saw somewhere that it will be possible in the future to see the news archive. Devs are probably busy with more important things. I hope the news archive will be available soon.
....nothing here.

I figured out a "workaround" for now.  You can search "release" in the news section.  That works for me, as I am the owner of a joomla download portal.  But for the average user, they won't bother to do a search.

From the developers perspective, their news only shows up on the front page for 1 day (as there are usually more than 5 news articles in one day), then it is gone.  Kinda limiting the developers' ability to promote their new release.

Thanks for pointing out the search "release", cpzhao. I too was confused about the frontpage section with limited New release postings :)

Good tip for viewers!

cheers!

I second this
there should be at least a news archive like visible on the frontpage
and there should be at least 10 - 15 news at the front.
Waddaya mean I can't swing my lightsaber in the forum??

When we roll out the integration between Joomla! and SourceForge, all SourceForge project news will be promoted to Joomla! where it will be  fully available from now to eternity :-)

Definitions of integration points between Joomla! and SourceForge are in the SourceForge - Joomla Modules project.
