Do you have a section where we can report Scam Joomla ProS?

Post by AJuOnLiNE » Tue Dec 19, 2006 4:39 pm

Hi,
Is there a section where we can report some of the "Scam" Professionals and help others NOT fall in their trap?
Regards,
AJ

Sorry, to hear that you have probably had a bad experience with some "Scam" Professionals....

Regarding your question: No, the Forum Rules: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,65.0.html state
This is not the place to settle a commercial disagreement for custom development or to be a 'wall of shame'. Any posts deemed to be of this nature will be removed. Settle your disputes in private please.

so there's no place at this forum for a 'wall of shame'.
Kind Regards,

Ok. That explains it. But why so?
If you could allow people to ask for professional help over here and seek for professionals.
You should also allow people to post information so that others become aware of such stuff?
I have seen this in various Hosting Forums like Webhostingtalk.
Thanks for pointing me to the rules. And thanks for the reply.
Regards,
AJ

Please read your private message.

The reason a wall of shame is not allowed is that exxperience shows that in general there are two sides to every story and this is not the best place to resolve issues of a commercial nature not directly in the control of joomla.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the PM. The reply didn't went off as your Inbox is full.
Well I might agree to you. But here, I know this story does not have 2 sides.

AJ

There are a number of sites out there that allow you to rate web pros and developers...

I agree this is not the site to do it...there is enough going on to take up the mods free time that this is not the place for it....

Besides if you really want to get the word out it is better to get it out at a place where people are looking for web devlopers not a site where the system the developer uses is serviced...

Well, the point I am trying to advocate over here is.
If you allow users to ask for and provide professional services on the site. There should be such a section to post feedback and alerts so that people(others) do not fall in the trap again?
I am sure everyone is busy. And so are people/members of this great community.
But isn't my point worth the "think".
Even there are plenty other places to find "Joomla Professionals" to work for you? Then why include this kinda "Category" in the forums.

And I actually met 2 of them here.
1 I know surely is Scam. The other I am waiting for his response though I do not suspect that he is a Scam anyway.
But who knows  :D
