forge.joomla.org timeouts! (so does developer.joomla.org)
for me forge.joomla.org timeouts since yesterday.
The same goes for developer.joomla.org (same IP, virtual hosts?)
Please investigate someone!

It appears that the NS records for forge.joomla.org and developer.joomla.org are missing.

hmmm..
From what I can see the primary nameserver for joomla.org is ns1.easydns.com
When doing a lookup for forge.joomla.org and developer.joomla.org on that server I get:
So I can't see any DNS problems

I think the forge app just quite isn't up to the beating such a large community give it. Joomla! is the most popular CMS after all.
The working group members are definitely aware of the issues, so I'm confident the situation will improve with time.

As of the time of my posting there were no ns records...in fact I find it kind of interesting because there still aren't any ns records for forge or developer...interesting at least.
Re: forge.joomla.org so slow ([Exception in:/common/jsp/layouts/default_new.jsp]
Just curious, how are you checking? Did you check forum.joomla.org? I'm sure you will find the same thing. See my other post for a bit of an explanation.

I'm not arguing with you. I didn't run an nslookup on the domain. I simply ran a dnsreport.com query. And yes I ran it on forum.joomla.org and it came up just fine. Now that I double check each domain you are correct that none of them respond. I could have sworn that forum.joomla.org responded properly though...oh well. It still is kinda interesting in the least.

Re: forge.joomla.org so slow ([Exception in:/common/jsp/layouts/default_new.jsp]
This is getting off topic, however there should never be an NS record for a sub domain unless its handled by a different NS server.
For example:
foobar.com and it's sub domains all reside on 10.0.1.1 - There should only be NS records for foobar.com
barfoo.com is running at my data center, It should have an NS record to support barfoo.com, however home.barfoo.com is a Microsoft Domain running at home, since the name server at barfoo.com can't handle the AD, I can redirect the NS lookup to ad1.home.barfoo.com by adding a NS record for home.barfoo.com
-- This is how DynamicIP Domain Hosters work when you have your own domain server.
To bring it back to topic:
- Forge is back working well currently and we can all be happy, and I can get some work done
